About Us

Meet Michelle

After more than 20 years of dancing I'm as passionate about it as ever. I started dancing at a young age and soon joined a local youth theatre company here in Reading. I still support them in their musical theatre productions as primary choreographer working on musicals like ‘High School Musical’, ‘West Side Story’ and ‘Fame’.

My desire to train as a professional dancer took me to The Bird College where I gained a National Diploma in Musical Theatre and Dance and qualified as an ISTD registered dance teacher.

This in turn has lead to an exciting career which has taken me around the world as head dancer on a cruise ship, found me on the judging panel of ‘Reading’s got talent’ and seen me become Head of Dance at the prestigious Bradfield College.

Although I’ve taught at a number of dance schools I’ve always wanted my own and so I founded TPAI out of a desire to encourage, teach and inspire others. Dance is my first love and my dream; I want you to enjoy dancing as much as I do.

Something for everyone

Whether you’re looking to have fun with friends or throw a unique birthday party, meet new people or increase your fitness; even progress to a career as a professional dancer or teacher, I’ve got classes to suit you.

Dancing is good for you and can build confidence, develop creativity, encourage teamwork, improve your fitness and enhance self discipline.

It doesn’t matter if you’re 2 or 102, a beginner or an old hand, a lover of jazz or into street dance; I don’t mind. You might want to try modern or tap, cheerleading or musical theatre, you might even harbour ambitions to become a prima ballerina. Whatever you want from your dancing, TPAI will help you achieve your goals.

You’ll see real progress with regular examinations and we run Easter and summer courses for all. If you’re looking for a change of career I can even take you through your ISTD qualifications and one day you could be teaching others to dance.

We have a total of three wooden floored dance studios and our main studio has just undergone a major refurbishment with a brand new floor and floor to ceiling mirrors.

We have a reception area selling drinks, snacks and dance wear and of course male and female changing rooms with lockers.

Parents and children can relax in our chill out area and read daily newspapers, watch TV or even catch a movie while they wait and it’s a great place for the kids to hang out and catch up on homework, read or just play.

We’re at a great lakeside location by the Copthorne Hotel with plenty of free parking and a bar and coffee shop for parents. We even have FREE Wi-Fi so you can catch up on work or simply surf the web.

Our Goal

Our goal is to inspire and motivate every student whilst learning the elements of dance: coordination, creativity, musicality, rhythm and technique. “We Bring Out the Star in You!”
